Overview

Taimalelagi Mataio Faafetai (Matt) Brown, is a New Zealand born Samoan author and renowned communicator who works to eradicate domestic violence by supporting those who perpetrate violence, to heal. A survivor of family violence and childhood sexual abuse himself, he originally started his domestic violence advocacy work by sharing his story with the men who frequented his busy barbershops as a way to foster vulnerability, healing, and connection.

Matt and Sarah Brown MNZM, together founded She Is Not Your Rehab and launched the concept in Matt’s 2019 TEDx talk; The Barbershop where men go to heal.

She Is Not Your Rehab was founded from a barbershop as an invitation for men to acknowledge their own childhood trauma and to take responsibility for their healing so that they can transform their pain instead of transmitting it on those around them.

Overview

The front desk is under more pressure than ever, juggling patients, phone calls, admin, and digital systems. But what if your phone system could actually reduce that pressure? In this session, we’ll unpack how modern cloud-based phone solutions are helping healthcare practices simplify call handling, reduce manual tasks, and capture more patient demand.

You’ll discover how leading clinics are using next-gen phone technology to streamline their workflows, gain deeper visibility into clinic performance, and even leverage intelligent tools to make smarter staffing decisions — all without adding to the team’s workload. Plus, we’ll explore how these systems integrate seamlessly with platforms like HotDoc, AutoMed, Cubiko, and Best Practice, creating a more connected and efficient experience for staff and patients alike.

Whether you’re running a single clinic or managing a group, this session will give you a glimpse into how the next generation of communication technology is transforming front desk operations and how your practice can stay ahead of the curve.

Healthcare practices receive various types of correspondence, from legitimate legal notices to fraudulent scams, and distinguishing between them is critical to avoid costly mistakes. Attendees will learn practical steps to verify authenticity (e.g., checking sender details against official records), assess legal urgency, and implement protocols to manage correspondence effectively, reducing legal and financial risks.
A well-built budget is one of the most powerful tools for running a profitable, sustainable practice, yet many practices aren’t getting the most out of theirs. If you don’t have a budget or if your budget is not useful, this session is for you!

In this hands-on workshop, you will:
  • Learn the step-by-step process to create a budget that aligns with your practice’s goals.
  • Understand how to forecast income and manage expenses with accuracy.
  • Identify key performance indicators to track and measure success.

Overview Taimalealgi Mataio Faafetai (Matt) Brown, is a New Zealand born Samoan author and renowned communicator who works to eradicate domestic violence by supporting those who perpetrate violence, to heal.
A survivor of family violence and childhood sexual abuse himself, he originally started his domestic violence advocacy work by sharing his story with the men who frequented his busy barbershops as a way to foster vulnerability, healing, and connection.Matt and Sarah Brown MNZM, together founded She Is Not Your Rehab and launched the concept in Matt’s 2019 TEDx talk; The Barbershop where men go to heal.

Session Title How Smarter Phone Systems Are Reshaping Practice Workflows Navigating Correspondence: Identifying Real vs. Fake and Assessing Legal Urgency Building a Masterful Budget: Step-by-Step Workshop Managers Q&A with a panel answering

  • Gain practical strategies to keep your budget relevant and effective all year round.
