Session Topic: Regional and Rural General Practice: Challenges and opportunities in supporting your workforce
Sandra Bukumirovic is the Health Workforce Solutions Team Leader at Health Workforce Queensland. Sandra has extensive experience in the recruitment industry, as well as management of Commonwealth funded workforce programs that support remote and rural health professionals. She is passionate about increasing the highly skilled, culturally competent primary healthcare workforce and delivering responsive solutions for remote and rural communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services. She holds current professional accreditation with RCSA (Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association of Australia & NZ) and has extensive knowledge of international and domestic recruitment practices, dealing with current and emerging workforce issues and the ability to provide strategic advice to stakeholders. Sandra and her team are passionate and dedicated individuals with a firm commitment to providing ongoing support to General Practices, rural communities and supporting rural health workforce.
Health Workforce Queensland is a not-for-profit Rural Workforce Agency focused on making sure remote, rural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have access to highly skilled health professionals when and where they need them. The Agency provides a continuum of support services to remote and rural general practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers. In providing those support services, the Agency aims to address the health workforce shortages and maldistribution to meet the current and future health workforce needs throughout remote and rural Queensland communities.
