President of the Australian Primary Health Care Nurse Association, Karen Booth is an RN working in general practice as a primary healthcare nurse and practice manager since 1998. Areas of expertise include preventative health, immunisation, diabetes, chronic disease care and coordination, data management, accreditation. Karen has setup systems in general practices, including nurse led clinics supporting a team approach to care. Karen has a keen interest in workforce development and advocating for the role of the nurse in primary health care.
Karen is a member of the Advisory Committee for Vaccines (ministerial appt), the General Practice Primary Health Care Clinical Committee MBS review, RACGP and ACQSHC past Primary Health Care Advisory Group (ministerial appt), advisor Health Care Homes. Karen is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
