John’s responsibilities include the ERPT (Emergency Response Planning Tool) and the relationship with the RACGP.

Miroslav Doncevic

Miroslav Doncevic, Founder and Managing Director Digital Medical Systems

Miroslav Doncevic has had extensive computer industry expertise since 1985 including national sales management roles and is the founder and Managing Director of Digital Medical Systems which has provided professional IT consulting, ICT systems as well as technical solutions and support services to medical practice clients across Australia since 1990.  He has worked closely with many medical and allied health professional organisations in training events to present on ICT in plain English including the Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM), RACGP and many Divisions of General Practice, Medicare Locals and Primary Health Networks.

Mary Warner

Mary Warner is a Director in the Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) Policy and Specialist Services Branch in the Australian Department of Health providing policy advice on the Government’s Medicare program in relation to services provided by medical specialists. In 2016-17 there were approximately 65.4 million specialist services performed at a cost of an estimated A$6.5 billion. Mary is also responsible for the process of managing the process of adding or changing services listed on the Medicare Benefits Schedule. This involves significant liaison with medical groups along the way.

Angela has extensive experience managing practices of various disciplines and size.

A past State and National AAPM President, Fellow, Life Member & Certified Practice Manager.

She has experience as a Board Member and expert committee member for multiple bodies in healthcare.

Angela is an Accreditation Surveyor and a Medical Practice Assistant trainer and assessor for UNEP, a Registered Nurse with a Post Grad Certificate in Nursing Management, a Diploma in Practice Management and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Marianna Kelly

Marianna Kelly, Senior Risk Advisor, Avant

Marianna has worked within the medical industry for over 30 years. Her experience includes general and midwifery nursing, managing large medical practices, consulting to medical practices including general practice, varying medical specialties, universities, developing dispute systems, mediation services and lecturing in practice management. Marianna has a Masters in Risk Management so she is able to support the theory of risk management with the practical experience of developing strategies to manage the medico-legal road blocks. She is a Fellow member of the Australian Association of Practice Management.

Darren Hopkins

Darren Hopkins, Forensic IT Specialist

Darren is a partner of McGrathNicol, a senior member of its Forensic Technology team and specialises in seizing and analysing digital evidence, data recovery, electronic evidence preservation and conducting computer related fraud.  A qualified investigator and forensic technology practitioner with over 20 years specialist forensic experience and over five years as a foundation member of the Forensic Computer Examination Unit with Queensland Police, Darren has undertaken complex computer forensic examinations for both criminal and civil litigation in Australia and overseas.

 

Harry McCay

Harry McCay, Senior Solicitor, Avant ACT

Harry has practised as a solicitor since 1988 and almost exclusively in Health Law areas involving medical and dental negligence claims, disciplinary and criminal proceedings against doctors and dentists, inquests and related proceedings since the beginning of 1989.   Harry is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of ACT, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.  He was a Senior Associate with Flower & Hart and Tresscox before joining the former UNITED Medical Protection.  He has published a number of articles on medical negligence claims and has lectured on various Health Law subjects to medical students of Griffith University.

Simon Cotterell

Simon Cotterell

Simon Cotterell is the First Assistant Secretary of the Provider Benefits Integrity Division in the Department of Health.  Simon has worked for over 28 years in government.  Over the last 14 years in Health, Simon has led work on health payments integrity; global and regional health issues; drug policy; health financing; health security; the blood supply; organ and tissue donation; and a range of other health system issues.

Prior to Health, Simon worked for a decade as a policy adviser in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in various areas of social policy and international relations.  Simon has qualifications in political science and economics, and was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2012 for his work on tobacco plain packaging and tobacco control in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
